A recent report on PBS's "The NewsHour With Jim Lehrer" showed a very different perspective on the war in the Caucasus. The Georgian breakaway region of Abkhazia fought an unsuccessful war for independence from Georgia in the early nineties, but it has managed to develop a stable, self-sustaining society as an autonomous region. Georgian bullying of the province has exacerbated the situation but Abkhazia remains self-reliant and seemingly ready to take its place among the sisterhood of nations.
Sometimes there are two sides to every story. We've already heard the Georgian side.
