Senate Democrats did something unimaginable today - they took a stand! They pulled an obvious but highly effective political stunt by forcing the Senate in closed session to demand that Senate Intelligence Committee chariman Pat Roberts (R-KS) continue his investigation in the reliability of the prewar intelligence of Saddam Hussein's arsenal and to focus attention on the ongoing CIA scandal. Just when it seemed that Bush had changed the subject by nominating Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court, the Democrats changed it right back. True, the Democrats could have tried to look into Bush's fanciful, cooked-up evidence when they actually controlled the Senate in 2002. But as far as political theater goes, this was a Tony-worthy production! :-D
