Today is the seventh straight day of rain in New Jersey and the rest of the Northeast, owing to a stalled storm that just won't go away. At least three more rainy days are expected.
As if that weren't enough bad meteorological news, get this: the government says that natural gas and home heating oil will cost more this winter, meaning higher heating bills - but mild weather in the Midwest and the Pacific Northwest should ease things a bit. Ominously absent from this hopeful winter forecast was. . . the Northeast, which has already had three bad winters in a row. (Do I hear four?)
