Thanks Steve. Yeah, the Hendrix version pretty much set the standard for this, but my favorite version is from the Otis Taylor band at North Sea Jazz Festival in 2011 (YouTube). Great musicianship all around, and Anne Harris on rock violin has to be seen & heard to be believed.
