Porter Goss resigned unexpectedly as director of the Central Intelligence Agency, after only twenty months on the job. Bad blood between his own staff - which he brought over from his time in the House of Representatives - and agency regulars likely caused the resignation. Or maybe it was because Bush told him, "You're doing a heck of a job, Porter!" and Goss took that as a sign that it just wasn't working out. :-D
